Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has initiated a border free movement for all Africans with an African Visa entering into Nigeria beginning January 1, 2020.
The President made the announcement at the Aswam forum holding in Egypt. He gave his commitment to a free movement of Africans within Africa.
With that announcement, Nigeria will become the first country in Africa to embrace an open border movement of African citizens within Africa. This simply means that any African citizen entering Nigeria will not need to hold a Nigerian Visa at point of entry as long as he holds a valid passport of his home country.
