Corp Member Kidnapped By Boko Haram Refuses To Return Home After Being Set Free

An ex-corp member of the National Youth Service Corps Abraham Amuta, has been reported to turn down an offer of freedom from the captivity of Boko Haram insurgents yesterday.

Abraham was abducted alongside Pastor Moses Oyeleke of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) in Maiduguri on April 10, 2019 while he was on his National service.

They were abducted along Gwoza road from Maiduguri on their way to Chibok to deliver some humanitarian assistance. Pastor Oyeleke was, however, released in November 2019.

The report brought by Daily Trust, has it that Abraham told the negotiators who went to lobby for his freedom at Sambisa forest, to go back home, stating that he had renounced his Christian faith. .

Negotiation for his release and the release of other captives have been ongoing until yesterday when the ex-corps member’s shocked everyone with his decision to remain with the insurgents.
